What makes The Balanced Bull different?
We select only the best micro lot green coffees that were the top of the top from the growers. Then, we fine tune the roast profiles for bean type and batch to bring out maximum flavor profiles.
Is it whole bean?
Absolutely! We only ship whole bean so you can enjoy the freshest coffee. Don’t have a grinder? We recommend a burr grinder for the most consistent grind possible.
Where does the coffee come from?
All of our coffee is sourced from the best coffee growing regions and growers, but it depends on the specific roast. Check each product listing for more information.
When will my coffee ship?
Currently we are only shipping on Mondays. You will receive an email notification once your order ships. We only ship to the continental US.
I'm local, can I pick up?
Yes! Choose the free pickup option when you checkout and we’ll help make arrangements.
How should I store my coffee?
Keep your coffee someplace with a comfortable temperature (not the fridge or freezer) where sunlight and moisture can’t get to it. The bags we use have a protective liner with a one way degassing valve, so you don’t need anything fancy. Just reseal the bag and set it in your pantry/cabinet and you’re good to go.
Ready to kick your coffee storage up a notch? We like to use a container like this one that limits oxygen getting in while letting C02 escape.
Can I get a refund?
All sales are final.
How long will my coffee be fresh?
It all depends on how you store it! The short answer is it will taste best within ~2.5 weeks from the roasting date.
Long, nerdy answer: With optimal conditions it’ll taste better longer, but here are some specific guidelines to go by:
- 0-4 days after roasting coffee is good but still degassing a little. Drinkable and will taste great but will taste even more delicious and complex waiting a few more days.
- 5-15 days after roasting is the sweet spot. This is what you are striving for. Maximum flavors, balanced taste, sweetest, and very complex.
- 16-30 days after roasting coffee tastes good but not like it did before. It’s starting to lose some of the uniqueness and complex flavor profiles, mellowing out a little.
- 30+ days after roasting it’s almost game over, not much to write home about.
I loved your _____ coffee, but now it’s gone. Why? Coffee is a perishable nut and is only harvested at certain times of the year for various countries. We rotate our selection based on quality and availability to ensure only the best is used.
What should I make with the coffee? Whatever you want! You can use it for just espresso, lattes, cortados (Damon’s personal favorite), Aeropress, or a pour over like Chemex for one beautiful cup of coffee. The choice is yours!
